Amara Vadee was classically trained in graphic design at Art Center College of Design and California State University, San Bernardino. She broke into the design field at the age of twelve when a teacher noticed her knack for visual communication. In her desktop publishing class she quickly picked up Adobe PageMaker, the precursor to the design-industry standard Adobe InDesign. After a few months of learning desktop publishing she taught herself the beginning blocks of HTML and explored web design.
Her adolescent years were spent exploring graphic design and photography. Paranoid of deviating too far from the norm, she continued to enroll in honors and Advanced Placement classes to keep herself academically competitive.
Her academic achievements landed her at the Naval Academy Preparatory School/United States Coast Guard Academy in 2002. She secretly continued practicing graphic design during her short stay there. After disenrolling due to professional differences, she pursued a myriad of academic majors at various colleges in southern California: nursing, anthropology, archaeology, and photography.
She learned about the scholarship program at Art Center in 2005 and decided to throw her hat in the ring, despite not having professionaly practicied for a number of years. She was accepted and was immensely impressed. However, when the scholarship money ran out, she opted to attend Cal State San Bernardino. She graduated with a BA in Art upon completing an international externship in global design and marketing in Thailand.
